We currently have IPSec VPN configured to a target IP Address, but want to change this to a DNS Name, we’ve enabled custom DNS servers on the Mobile WAN interface but the CLI you cannot ping the DNS name as the result is BAD address.

Q:Does RUT11X support DNS name for targeting the VPN headend firewall rather than IP address?
Q: DNS resolution from Cli does not work, is that supported or needs extra configuration?
Q: In the host file on RUT the only entry is 127.0.0.1

How would RUT11X utilise DNS settings to target a IPsec VPN firewall?

Regards Khalid
