RUT11 Port forwarding not working

Hi everyone,

I have RUT11, it has a static IP address, connected to a managed POE switch where all other devices are connected, I have a Dahua camera connected with a static IP 192.168.0.110 , a DYNDNS account for remote access and a port 6600
I could not access the camera via the DYNDNS despite that I have configured the port forwarding in the RUT11

Can anyone help please if I’m missing on something ?

Regards,

Hello,

Could you please share a screenshot of your port forwarding rule?

Also, what are the first two octets of your WAN IP address? If you enable remote HTTP access on RUT, are you able to access it via DDNS name?

Kind Regards,

Hi Andzej,

Thank you

The WAN IP 192.168

Hello,

It seems that your WAN interface has a private IP address. Do you use DDNS on a private network?

If not, the device needs to have a public IP address and should be reachable over the internet.

Kind Regards,

Hi Andzej,

My apologies, the WAN IP address is 10.170.

Hello,

DDNS is usually used to resolve public IP addresses. Your current WAN IP address (10.170.x.x) is a private IP address. This means that your IP address is being NATed and you will not be able to access your device remotely. What WAN source are you using? Is it wired WAN or SIM?

Kind Regards,

Hi Andzej,

I’m using a SIM card to connect

I have configured the camera DDNS however can’t access it yet, when I connect my laptop and check the ports that I have tried to open on the RUT11 they are still closed.

Hello,

If you obtain 10.170 IP address on your mobile mob1s1a1 interface in Network → Interfaces, you will not be able to reach your device over the internet. You need to have a public IP address for that. You can contact your SIM card provider and ask them about the possibility of a public IP address. Usually, if public IP address can be provided, you will need to use a specific APN to obtain this public IP address. So if it is available, ask the provider about the APN. You can then set the custom APN in Network → Interfaces → Edit mob1s1a1 interafce → Disable auto APN and enter the custom APN that your provider gave you.

Kind Regards,
