Router Wi-Fi 7 Altos CAP700

Does this router allow for the physical connection of an external antenna to increase the strength of the 5G/4G LTE signal? I have an external antenna from Panorama Antennas, model WMM8G-7-38 | 4G/5G LTE – 2x2 MIMO Directional Antenna (2x SMA male connectors). Is there a cap marked MAIN/DIV on the back of the router, under which there are 2x SMA female connectors?

Greetings, @XynthCode,

Welcome to the Teltonika Community.

The MAIN/DIV cap includes two antenna slots. However, I have forwarded your case to our R&D team for further evaluation to verify whether the antenna you are using is compatible with the CAP700. I will provide an update as soon as further information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,
V.

Hello Vilius,

Thank you for your reply. What type of antenna connectors are located under the MAIN/DIV cap on the back of the router: SMA or TS9 ?.

Greetings,

Thank you for your message,

The antennas under the MAIN/DIV cap are TS9.

Kind regards,
V.

Hallo Vilius,

Thank you for the information :+1: .

I´m still waiting for your reply regarding the compatibility of the WMM8G-7-38 (4G/5G-2xMIMO) Panorama Antennas external antenna with the Altos-CAP700 Teltonika router.

Have a nice day.

Best regards,

X.

Thank you for your swift response,

I will update you on the matter once I have more information from our R&D team.

Best regards,
V.

Hello, @XynthCode ,

I hope this message finds you well,

I have an update from our R&D team:

It should be noted that the use of external antennas may adversely affect the performance of the internal antennas; therefore, external antennas are recommended only in situations where stable mobile connectivity cannot be achieved through the internal antennas due to the device’s placement or environmental constraints.

Antenna Selection: The external TS9 connectors support bands N78, B42, and B43. When selecting an antenna, please ensure compatibility with these bands. For the primary N78 frequency band, a directional antenna with a gain of 6–8 dBi is recommended.

Connector Usage: External antennas may be connected via either of the TS9 connectors labelled MAIN or DIV, both of which are expected to yield comparable performance results

After some research regarding your antenna, I managed to find that it uses different connectors, therefore you may need adaptors to connect the antenna to the device.

Regarding the bands, WMM8G-7-38 (4G/5G-2xMIMO) Panorama Antenna supports N78, B42 and B43 bands.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best regards,
V.
