RMS: Failed to verify device

We have a device that has worked flawlessly in RMS since it was commissioned in 2022.

Yesterday it disconnected from RMS reporting that there was a Server Error and connection problem.

Today it changed status is RMS reporting: Failed to verify device.

The error message says to contact support. Please advise.

Please try unregistering the device from RMS and then re-registering it again.

Let me know if this resolves the issue. If not, please clarify whether you are seeing the same issue or a different one.

Additionally, could you please provide your device model and confirm if you are able to access its WebUI?

I unregistered the device and registered it again and it started working. However with this operation we loose all backups for the previous device registration and also all statistics. Seems like a workaround rather than identifying and fixing the problem itself. What can cause these issues for a device that has been operational for years?

This issue can occur when RMS is unable to validate the rms_id file.
It typically happens if the device is re-registered in RMS and then a factory reset is performed immediately afterward.
