The version of the Tailscale package in firmware 07.24.1 is now listed as having known security issues. A while ago I was informed that the Tailscale package would be updated more frequently with the 07.24 firmware builds onwards. How soon will the latest Tailscale package be updated in Teltonika firmware please?

Thank you once again for being proactive and bringing this to our attention.
Our R&D team has confirmed that Tailscale and other software packages are updated as part of each new firmware release. The next package updates are planned for the upcoming 07.25 firmware release. At this time, however, I do not have an estimated release date to share.
In the meantime, I recommend keeping an eye on upcoming firmware releases and updating your device as soon as version 07.25 becomes available to ensure you receive the latest package updates and security improvements.

Thanks for the update. It’s not quite what I was hoping for - I was previously informed that Tailscale updates were going to be delivered in the 07.24 firmware cycle. But at least it will be updated sometime.
Tailscale was updated in firmware version 07.24 and will continue to receive updates with each subsequent firmware release, including 07.25, 07.26, and future versions.

I have some hosts running versions ranging from 07.23 to 07.24.1 and they are all reporting as running the same version of Tailscale [1.92.3-16 (OpenWrt)]. So I didn’t see any update with firmware 07.24. What version was Tailscale updated to in firmware 07.24 according to your records please?

We will make sure that the new Tailscale version is included in the upcoming 07.25 firmware release.
As a temporary workaround, you can also try updating Tailscale manually via the CLI by executing the following command:
tailscale update
For reference, you can provide the Tailscale version before and after the update:

Version after the update:
According to the Tailscale GitHub repository, this is currently the latest available release.

Thanks for that reply. The last time I tried to update tailscale from the CLI on a Teltonika it broke everything (this was around firmware 07.22) and I had to factory reset the Teltonika. I assumed that I could only update tailscale when Teltonika released a new package.
I’ll try updating from the CLI again.
As expected, upgrading tailscale from the CLI doesn’t work. the installation process doesn’t know about the custom Teltonika paths so tailscaled doesn’t start. I had to remove the upgraded tailscale from the CLI and then re-install the Teltonika package (which has the version with security issues). I had to remove tailscale from the CLI, and then had to install tailscale using the Teltonika UI (opkg install tailscale doesn’t work)
