it is possible to plug&play-replace an old Siemens TC35i with an TRB142 without sending further adjustments to it? Take out the old modem, put in the new TRB142 incl. SIM card and ready to go?
The old TC35i is installed in a pellet stove. Via SMS I send commands like heat on, stove off (to be exact: “CODE h100”, “CODE off” …). It was never necessary to programm the TC35i.
To better understand your setup and goal, could you please clarify what you would like the TRB142 to do after receiving an SMS? For example, should it set Modbus registers or change digital I/O states based on specific received SMSs?
The TRB142 includes a Mobile Utilities service that allows you to configure rules for performing actions automatically when certain SMS messages are received.
