Recovering bricked RUT950

Hello,

I received some old RUT950 modems in a sale.
I upgraded the firmware on one of the units to the latest (RUT9_R_00.07.06.16_WEBUI.bin).
The unit now seems bricked, it doesnt run a web server on 192.168.1.1, nor can I SSH into the unit.
I’ve tried using the bootloader mode to upload the legacy firmware (RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5_WEBUI.bin), but it wont let me downgrade to v6 - it just says ‘Error: Incorrect firmware version.’ I can apply any version of the v7 firmware, but I still have the same result.
I’ve tried multiple factory resets but no change.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers!

Hello,

Please ensure your device is updated to the latest firmware version.

If you cannot access your device’s IP address, please follow these steps:

  • Check using the ipconfig command to verify if the device gateway is set to 192.168.1.1. Note that the default IP may have been changed.
  • Try setting a static IP on your PC as described in this guide: Setting up a Static IP Address on a Windows 10 PC.

Additionally, refer to the Quick Start Guide for your device here: Quick Start Guide for RUT950.

Best regards,
