Reading FMB125 Data on PC via RS485 / RS232 from PC

Dear Sir,

I would like to confirm one requirement regarding local data monitoring.

We have an FMB125 device from which data is being collected.
Now we want to monitor this data our Pc using RS485 / RS232 communication.

we would like to connect it to a PC and view the data locally using PuTTY software.

In short, the data flow will be:

FMB125 → (RS485 / RS232) → (USB / Serial) → PC (PuTTY)

So, please confirm if it is possible to:

  • Read Modbus / serial data from FMB125

  • And view the same data in PuTTY on the PC in real time

Please let us know the required configuration and whether any special settings or firmware are needed.

Looking forward to your confirmation.

Dear Shahnawaz,

Could you please clarify your use case?

Are you looking to read data from a Modbus slave device and forward this data to a PC?

Please note that the FMB125 does not support Modbus functionality at the device firmware level. You would need to generate the Modbus commands and parse the Modbus responses on your side.

Regarding the connection to a PC, you can connect the FMB125 to a PC and monitor the live logs using PuTTY through a micro USB cable.

However, the received data will be in ASCII format, and you will need to parse the records from the live log accordingly.

Best regards,
Naveen

Thanks for the reply sir,

Dear Sir,

I would like to clarify that I need to receive data from the FMB device through RS232 or RS485 communication, not via the USB port.

Kindly guide us on the correct configuration and setup required to receive data through RS232 / RS485.

Looking forward to your support.

Regards,
Shahnawaz Ahmad

Dear Shahnawaz,

In FMB125, you can use the Log Mode in RS232 or RS485 to send the data to a PC.

However, as mentioned earlier, the received data will be in ASCII format, and you will need to parse the records from the live log accordingly.

Please find the attached screenshot for your reference.

Best regards,

Naveen
