Rain/wind/"outside" proof antennas for RUTX50

Hi!

We just bought our RUTX50 and planning to install it in our OB van. Since the inside of the back of the van has proven to be completely isolating for any and all signals, we originally planned to host it in the front of the van, but I fear it might still be too isolating (and cumbersome to install). After reading some of the forum posts here, I understand that it’s recommended to use all 4 antennas regardless of use case. We operate mostly on the south half of Norway so not a lot of frost and snow, but A LOT of rain and wind. Are the included 4 small omni antennas fit for installing on the oustide of a van in these conditions? If not, what antennas are recommended for this?

Also, since the included cables will need to be extended for installing on the outside, what is the recommended max length for the SMA cables between antenna and router to prevent signal loss?

Thanks!

Hi…

A good start point is look the Poyting antennas.
Take a look at

and

You will need to use all four LTE SMA to correct work of 4G/5G capabilities.

Those two seem to be only 2x2 MIMO, shouldn’t it be using 4x4 MIMO for the RUTX50? Something like POYNTING MIMO-4-17 would that work?

Hi…

Nice antenna… I don’t know this…

Yes… this antenna can be used for RUTX50.
Becauseyou have four lte, two wifi and one gps.

Teltonika’s outdoor PR1ICA70 supports the RUTx50
