Description:
The DLMS client on the RUT956 cannot read the buffer (attribute 2) of PROFILE GENERIC objects from a CEWE/Metrix Prometer 100 energy meter connected via RS-485 (HDLC).
Individual REGISTER reads (class 3) work correctly — 226 parameters are readable. The PROFILE GENERIC objects return column definitions (attribute 3), capture period (attribute 4),
entries in use (attribute 7), and max entries (attribute 8) correctly. Only the buffer data (attribute 2) is always empty.
Configuration:
- Physical device: RS-485, HDLC, 9600 baud
- Client address: 32
- Access security: Low
- Password: configured
- Logical name referencing: ON
- COSEM class: PROFILE GENERIC (ID: 7)
- OBIS codes tested: 1.0.99.1.0.255 (Load Profile 1), 1.0.99.2.0.255 (Load Profile 2)
- Entries setting: tested with 1 and 3
- Attributes: tested with “Buffer” only and “All”
The meter has 12,737 entries stored and the data is confirmed readable via ConfigView (CEWE’s configuration software) over Ethernet.
This appears to be the same issue reported in community post #15275, where a fix was planned for firmware 7.19 or later. We are on 7.21.3 and the issue persists.
Questions:
- Was the PROFILE GENERIC fix from post #15275 included in firmware 7.21?
- If yes, is there a specific configuration required to enable it?
- If no, what is the expected firmware version for this fix?
