Persistent Packages after Firmware Update

Hello,

on my RUTX50 I can use distfeeds or customfeeds to install packages. That works excellent but if I firmware update the RUTX all packages are lost.

Is there any official way to solve that?

Thank you very much.

Hello,

Could you please specify from which firmware version to which version the update was performed when the packages were lost? Additionally, did you perform the update with the “Keep settings” option enabled?

Best regards,

Hello @Marija,

please note: I did the package installation via the console, because I didn’t compile the packages my own. Via the custom/distfeeds.

I went from 7.12.3 to 7.13.4 in this scenario.
Keep settings was enabled.

Best regards

Thank you for the information.
Could you please also specify which packages you have installed?

Best regards,

I tried with multiple. fping, picocom, tinyproxy, nmap and iperf3.

Best regards

Hello,

I have attempted to replicate the issue by installing the iperf3 package on the RUTX50 via CLI and updating the device from version 7.12.3 to 7.13.4. However, after the update, the package remained installed on the device, and I was unable to replicate the issue.

Best regards,
