OpenVPN bridge with clashing LAN addresses

Is it possible (and how) to set up OpenVPN bridge using multiple RUT956 (RUT9M_R_00.07.13.3) routers where all RUT956s will have the same lan IP address?
I can set up a bridge with all routers having 192.168.1.1 for their lan interface, and it will (kind of) work - end devices can talk to each other, but I obviously have IP address clashes between routers.
Is there a way to ‘exclude’ local lan IP from the bridge? I found some examples of such OpenVPN configuration, but those assume I can set up additional ‘tap0’ device to use as bridge end point, and I can’t figure out how to do it on RUT956

(I understand that I should have different/unique address for each router, but due to the specifics of the project I need each site to have the same gateway address, and be on the same subnet, and all devices to be able to talk to each other as if they were all on the same subnet)

Thanks.

Hello,

Apologies for the delay. Could you confirm whether using OpenVPN in TAP (bridge) mode wouldn’t be a suitable option for your setup? Configuration example for TAP mode is available here:

When you mention “exclude local LAN IP from the bridge,” could you clarify what you mean by that?

Additionally, could you provide a simple topology diagram with the IPs and where each device/router sits in the intended setup?

Best regards,
