Hello Juliano,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Hope you’re doing fine.
Our devices have passive SMA type antennas. What I mean is that the device does not apply any additional current to boost the signal.
For the SMA types, we recommend to use up to 10 meters. So your 3 or 5meters long antennas should be fine!
The most important thing is that the antenna has a clear line of sight to the satellite.

On my NTP001 I find 3.8 VDC bias on the GNSS antenna SMA connector for an active antenna.
The reference design manual for the wireless module on page 67 details the recommended method to feed DC to an active antenna & it appears Teltonika followed this design.
Hello Eric,
You’ve made an excellent point, and I appreciate that. However, our devices are industrial-grade, designed to operate under extremely harsh conditions — from -40°C to +75°C, up to 90% humidity, and even in environments filled with water vapor. They often function in challenging or high-risk settings.
In such cases, any form of active power supply could create even the slightest risk of sparking, which in chemical or explosive industries could lead to severe safety hazards. Therefore, active antenna powering is generally not used in industrial applications.
Moreover, as stated in the document you shared, this is indicated to be an optional feature, as shown in the following excerpt…
