Not possible to send SMS by TRB140 (receive SMS possible)

Dear Community,

I bought a TRB140 which I would like build a system for sending a SMS by PLC. Basically I’m on the beginning of the setup and tried to send a SMS first of all from the TRB140 (Service/Mobile Utilities/Message/Send Message). It runs for a while and tells me then “Failed to send Message” → no error code. When I send a SMS from my mobile phone to the TRB140, that works fine → I can see it on “Read Message”.

I tried the SIM card with a phone which both sending and receiving SMS is possible (I doubt the provider is the problem). Within the mobile network status is everything connected.

Any idea where is the problem?

Greetings,

  1. Ensure that you are on the latest available firmware for your device when doing these test scenarios: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB140_Firmware_Downloads
  2. Could you first ensure that the SIM card has sufficient credit for sending SMS messages?
  3. If possible, could the SIM card be inserted into a phone for testing purposes to see if sending SMS messages from it works that way?
  4. Try accessing your device via the SSH (A guide on how to do that can be found here: Command Line Interfaces - Teltonika Networks Wiki) → After successfuly logging in, please try using the following command to send an SMS message: gsmctl -S -s "<phone_number> <text>"; You may try playing around with the country code of the phone number, first try with 2 0’s, if that won’t work, try with a + instead, so for example, +3706 or 003706 - A full list of the gsmctl commands can be found here: Gsmctl commands - Teltonika Networks Wiki
  5. If possible, for testing purposes, insert a SIM card from a different provider into the device and try sending an SMS message then. Do the sending method via the WebUI & the SSH.

Regards,
M.

Thanks a lot
