My RUTX11 WebGUI tells me that there is a new modem firmware available for download and installation. However, I have not found any changelog as is available for router firmware files. Why?
Where can I see the modem version installed and the new version available? I see the below, but it is missing relevant info, I guess - not even sure if the “internal modem firmware version” (redacted) is the version I could compare to the version for download:
The internal modem’s version can be seen in Status → System or System → Firmware pages (hidden part from screenshot).
If a modem update is available, you should be able to download and install it by selecting Update from – Server and Firmware type – Modem in the firmware update section.
Regarding modem firmware changelogs, they are not publicly shared, as this information is considered confidential by the modem manufacturer, Quectel, and cannot be disclosed without their permission.
As for rolling back to a previous modem firmware version, there are no publicly available instructions for performing a rollback.
But is a rollback possible? I ask after having read several posts where people encountered problems after a modem firmware update. All those threads ended without any further details, and in one, the reply was that Teltonika had decided not to publicly share rollback information, because it was very complex etc.
I do not wan to challenge Teltonika’s decision but want to be sure that I could get support if the modem firmware update failed. Can I?
Yes, in cases where a modem firmware upgrade fails or causes issues, rollback instructions and support will be provided privately. If you encounter any problems after the update, please reach out to us, and we will assist you accordingly.
