I cannot get my mesh system to work with with my new RUTX50 -
Tenda nova mesh system will not connect using default dynamic IP.
They say it’s a router issue - I have no idea what I need to do.
Hello,
Could you provide some screenshots of your mesh configuration of the RUTX50?
From the information I found on the Tenda website, they do support 802.11s, so it’s unlikely to be a protocol mismatch.
Is the issue that the Tenda devices do not receive an IP address, or do they not connect to the RUTX50 mesh network at all?
We have a wireless mesh configuration example available as well: Wireless Mesh configuration example - Teltonika Networks Wiki
If the RUTX50 is the default gateway in your network, then please follow mesh gateway configuration part: Wireless Mesh configuration example - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Best regards,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I’m really not IT minded and assumed it would all be plug and play.
I don’t even know how to get into the router setup - happy to take screenshots if you tell me what I need to do.
I currently have the mesh plugged into lan1 rather than wan but I’m not sure it’s actually working.
Hello,
The simplest way to configure the wireless mesh would be to use most of the parameters used in the Mesh configuration example. I would appreciate it if you could attach screenshots of the changes made on the Tenda devices, as well as the RUTX50.
Out of the box, RUTX50 has two WiFi access points enabled - one on 2.4GHz, and another on 5GHz channel. To configure RUTX50 as a mesh gateway, you will need to configure another instance on the 5GHz channel (2.4GHz may work as well, but 5GHz offers greater throughput). Once the instance is created, you’ll need to enter Mesh ID, as well as the password. These parameters will also need to be entered on the Tenda devices so they can authenticate.
If you encounter any issues along the way, please attach a screenshot of the relevant configuration page and explain the issue you’re facing in detail. Thanks!
Best regards,
