MAC-Address Filter forgets MAC-list when toggling off/on

We have a RUTC50 and are using the MAC Address Filter to whitelist devices connecting to the WiFi.

For some devices, it’s difficult or even impossible to determine the MAC address without first connecting them to the WiFi and inspecting the list of connected clients. My usual workflow for such cases is to temporarily disable the MAC Address Filter, connect the device, add its MAC address to the whitelist, and then re-enable the filter.

However, this approach is impractical with the current firmware (RUTC_R_00.07.11.1). Disabling the MAC Address Filter deletes all previously added addresses, so when I re-enable it, I have to manually re-enter the entire list of 30–40 MAC addresses—a tedious and time-consuming process.

Could this behavior be addressed in a future firmware update? It would also be great if the UI for managing MAC addresses could be improved. For example, having a dropdown is not a good solution. A more streamlined way to manage all addresses would make this feature much easier to use.

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As a potential workaround, could you try increasing the DHCP server’s lease time or setting it to “Infinite” navigated to Network → DHCP → Edit? With this configuration, you should be able to see the previously added MAC addresses in the list without having to re-enter them manually.

Let us know if you have additional questions, or if further assistance is needed.

Best regards,
