Log of Teltonike RUT240 question

Hello,

can someone tell me what this log entry in Teltonika RUT240 means:

daemon.notice netifd: ppp (4046): Mobile status PS: attached, traffic-channel-dormant

At that moment the network connection disappears.

Hello,

This log line could indicate that the modem is still registered with the mobile network, but the data traffic channel has entered a dormant state, meaning no active data session is ongoing at that moment.

This behavior may occur for several reasons, and first I’d suggest checking the following:

  • If there’s no traffic for some time, some providers automatically place the PDP context into dormant mode.
  • Weak or unstable signal quality may cause interruptions. Guidelines for improving signal parameters can be found here.
  • Incorrect or incomplete APN settings (PDP type, authentication, credentials)
  • The provider may be rejecting the data request or temporarily suspending traffic. This needs to be confirmed with your ISP.
  • SIM card or service limitations such as data quota/limits being reached or roaming restrictions.

Best regards,
