Hi, I’ve mounted a disk on the USB connector of my Rutx11 (/mnt/sda1) that I can access locally from Windows, as well as through RMS VPN. I can edit, delete, and create files from Windows, but from the iPad I can only view the contents; I can’t delete, create, or edit them.
Greetings,
How are you accessing the device via iPad exactly? What username is being used to log in to the device in order to manage the USB? Could you provide a screenshot? Kindly blur out any sensitive information (passwords, public IPs, serial number, MAC addresses, etc.)
Regards,
M.
Hello, I’ll explain the steps I followed:
- I insert the flash drive into the USB port and format it.
- I install the Network Shares package.
- I create the user “Nicolas” with a password.
- I activate Samba and create the shared directory, allowing access to the created user (Nicolas).
- To access via RMS VPN, I create a route with the IP address of rutx11.
- From Windows Explorer, with the address \192.168.11.1\sda1 and entering the username and password, I access the drive and can create, modify, and delete files.
- From the iPad, using the Files app and the Connect to Server option, I access the drive, but I can only view the contents and cannot modify, create, or delete files.
Greetings,
Apologies for the wait.
I’ve tried replicating your issue, however, I used an Android phone instead of an iPad, and was unable to replicate the issue. This leads me to believe that the issue can be related to the application which you are using to access the server. Perhaps there are some alternative applications that you could download from the App Store and test with? As your PC works as well, and it’s only the iPad that has these issues, it definitely sounds like an application fault, rather than something to do with the configuration.
Regards,
M.
Hello,
That’s right. I tried other apps and it works. The app I used that didn’t work was the native Apple app (Files). I imagine some Apple setting is preventing it from working properly.
Thank you.
