Issues setting up a Hotspot (bug?)

Hi all

I suspect I have encountered a bug when configuring Hotspot on RUTM51.

The router is providing wrong uamip to the external userportal (I have set uamip to be 192.168.20.254, but the router passes 192.168.21.254). I was trying to find where that IP is coming from.

I have verified via console that uamip is clearly visible as set in 192.168.20.0 subnet, which is what I have actually set:

However, in the running config (no matter how many reboots), this is what I see:

I can see this IP is assigned to the tunnel interface although I have no VPNs configured:

My only suspicion is that Teltonika RMS service uses VPN for remote control and somehow this interface IP address ends up as uamip.

Ideas? Am I missing something? Should I report this as a bug (if so, maybe you know where?)

Thanks
Saulius

A clarification - it has nothing to do with Teltonika RMS. Whenever a Hotspot is enabled, 2 interfaces are being created.
First - br-lan1 with the IP used when creating hotspot and second one - with the number incremented by 1 in the 3rd octet, i.e. if the original IP was 192.168.20.254, additional interface tun0 will appear with 192.168.21.254. That same IP address will be used as uamip parameter passed to the user portal.

Does anyone know if this is by design?

Hello,

I’ll create a request for our RnD team and will get back to you once I have an answer.

Thank you for your patience,
M.

Hi Matas,

thanks a lot for your response. I started to believe this is not a bug, but actually by design and it’s me who is just a newbie

I have tested this on another router - Teltonika RUT241 with slightly earlier firmware and I am observing exactly the same behavior - uamip is from different subnet (3rd octet of the IPv4 address incremented by 1). And, actually this IP does open a port 3990, and when tested responds to requests.

So, please ignore my request for now, I will be looking for issues elsewhere.

Thanks again

Saulius
