HTTPS DNS Proxy package can't resolve after a while

Hello,
RUTX14 (RUTX_R_00.07.15.1, but also happens on RUTX_R_00.07.14.3)
After a while DNS over HTTPS stops working. This happens every time when my ISP changes my IP. (Not sure why this happens while I’m having an active connection.. maybe this is just how 4G works?)
When I disable the DoH package in the router normal DNS works as expected. Even on IP change.
I double checked with the package enabled and the problem is back the second the IP changes.
When it happens I can’t ping google.com but 8.8.8.8 works.
Could it be a bug or is there a setting I could check?
Regards

Some more info I double checked now, disabling and re-enabling the package restores functionality.
Since this is a problem that only occurs once or twice a day and may be hard to reproduce.. I’m willing to help test a fix if needed.

I see now there are other similar topics. Checked the logs and I also see

Hello,

Could you please try the solution provided in this comment: RUT241 reconnecting every 24h - #13 by Marija and let me know if it helps to resolve the issue?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Hi,
Ok thank you. I’ll let you know.

Good evening,
Sadly the issue still persists.
I also executed /etc/init.d/network restart to be sure the change loaded after adding the proposed line. I’ll revert that change now, though.
Anything else I can try?

Hello,

Our developers have confirmed that this is a known issue that occurs when updating the firmware with the “Keep settings” option enabled. The issue is currently being addressed.

Unfortunately, at this time, the only solution is to perform a factory reset on the device.

We appreciate your understanding.

Best regards,

This is fixed in RUTX_R_00.07.19 | 2025.11.06

Thank you!
