How to configure Event juggler to send sms

I would like my RUTXR1 (firmware 07.18.3) to send an sms when 4G connection is lost and an sms once when connection is back. I have spent some time with different settings in Event juggler but it would be wery helpfull to get some input.

I have tried with following main selections

  • Event data/Event typ = GSM

  • Action data/Action type = Send SMS

  • Condition data/Condition typ = Time

I got the lost connection to work and also connection back but it continues to send sms now and then…

Could you please clarify if the SMS alerts for both “connection back” and “disconnected” are being sent at random times, even without an actual change in the connection status?

Could you please attach pictures of your current configuration of the event juggler?

Hi, thank you for contacting me about this.

I have now succeded with events sending SMS when the router is disconnected and connected. They seems to work fine. The only differense between them is the “Events Log Sub type” (Connected / Disconnected).

Questions: Is my settings a good way to do it?
Event Data Conf: Do I need to specify a trigger interval?

Action Data config:

  1. Why would I use a delay?

  2. Action retry count: When would I use this? Can the router check that the SMS has arrived to the receiver?

Your current configuration looks good for your use case.

Specifying a trigger interval is optional. If you set one, it defines the minimum number of seconds between event triggers and can help prevent sending SMS messages too frequently. If you leave it unset, the event could trigger multiple times in a short period

The delay sets how many seconds the router waits before executing the action after the event is triggered.

The retry count defines how many times the router will attempt to resend the SMS if sending fails on the router’s side (for example, due to temporary network issues).
The router cannot verify whether the SMS actually reaches the recipient, it can only confirm whether it successfully submitted the message to the network.
