We want to use the FMC650 device for CAN reading applications in larger vehicles, including busses and trucks? Is it necessary to use the ALL-CAN300 adapter with the FMC650? In what scenarios would the inclusion of the ALL-CAN300 adapter be preferred?

generally FMC650 device is used for tachograph solution. FMC650 features FMS CAN data (J1939), fuel CAN data (J1708), tachograph live data (K-Line), remote tachograph file download and various third party RS232 or RS485 devices support. As for ALL-CAN300, to view supported vehicles CAN bus data with ALL-CAN300 refer to: ALL-CAN300 - Wiki Knowledge Base | Teltonika GPS
ALL-CAN300 adapter would be useful in scenarios where CAN bus data is needed. As FMC650 doesn’t have in-built CAN data processor, it cant read CAN bus data by itself. Devices which have in-built CAN data processor are: FMB140, FMB150,FMC150,FMM150
These devices do not require CAN adapter to read CAN bus data.
