FMC130 - GPRS Status "Deactivated" with valid UMobile SIM (Operator 50218)

Hello Teltonika Support Team,

I am having trouble getting my FMC130 device to connect to the internet. The GPRS Status in the configurator remains “Deactivated” even after setting what I believe are the correct APN parameters.

Device Details:

  • Model: FMC130

SIM Card & Network Details:

  • Provider: UMobile (Malaysia)

  • SIM Status: The SIM card is active and has a working data plan. I have personally tested it in a mobile phone, and it connects to the internet successfully.

  • Device Status (from Configurator):

    • Modem Status: Modern On

    • SIM State: Ready

    • Actual Operator Code: 50218 (Correctly identifies UMobile)

    • Signal Level: Excellent Signal

    • GPRS Status: Deactivated

Configuration I Have Tried: I have configured the GPRS tab based on the UMobile (Operator 50218) requirements:

  • GPRS Context: Enable

  • APN: my3g

  • APN Username: (blank)

  • APN Password: (blank)

  • GPRS Authentication: None

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Saved the correct UMobile configuration (APN: my3g, no user/pass, auth: None) to the device.

  2. Rebooted the device multiple times.

  3. Tested the SIM in a phone (it works).

  4. Tried different GPRS Authentication (None, PAP) but none work.

Despite the device correctly identifying the SIM and having an excellent signal, the GPRS Status will not change to “Activated”.

Could this be an issue with the device, the firmware, or is there a specific carrier setting for UMobile that I am missing?

Please advise on the next steps. I am attaching screenshots of my “Status → GSM Info” and “GPRS” tabs for your review.

Have you tried GPRS Context disabled? When Auto APN search is enabled, it shouldn’t be needed to provide the APN manually. Also the stats show that data was transmitteed.

Enter a server to transmit data on and disabe GPRS context and see if data is being sent to your server.

I have tried using your method. But after I click reboot and see back to the GPRS Status it still shows Deactivated.

It’s not relevant what it shows there. Is it transmitting data to your configured server after configuring and after rebooting while the ignition is on? Check if the ignition status is recognized properly under I/O.

If the ignition status isn’t reflected, then GPRS may be sleeping when it thinks ignition is off.
