Hi,
We are struggling to get CAN information from two of our trucks: a 2024 Renault Truck C and a 2015 Mercedes Arocs.
We are using a Teltonika FMC150, and our fitters have advised that they have connected the CAN High and CAN Low wires into the CAN wiring that goes into the back of the tachograph head unit.
Can you confirm whether this is the correct connection point for obtaining CAN data with the FMC150?
If not, where would be the best place to obtain the CAN High and CAN Low signals from on these vehicles?
Many thanks.
Good Day,
The FMx150 CAN Wiring schematics can only be provided on our Partner Portal. Kindly contact your sales manager and they will assist you with creating a partner portal ticket where this information can be provided.
Thanks, and best regards,
Imran S.
Dear @Paylessbm
Thank you for reaching out.
Connecting to the tachograph head unit is technically correct, but it will only provide a limited set of parameters. For a complete set of CAN data, we recommend connecting to the main CAN lines instead. This also allows you to use the FMC150’s Auto-scan feature.
Generally, you can find the main CAN lines here:
- Mercedes / MAN / Scania: On the passenger side or the middle of the dashboard.
- Renault / Volvo: In the middle or top area of the dashboard.
For exact, step-by-step wiring schematics for your specific trucks, we provide detailed diagrams exclusively through our Partner Portal.
If you do not have access, kindly coordinate with your Teltonika Sales Manager or contact us directly via this link to request the diagrams: https://www.teltonika-gps.com/contact-us
