FMB920 does not respond to btgetlist 3 SMS command (Follow-up to previous Escort BLE issue)

Hello Teltonika Team,

This is a follow-up to my previous topic regarding the Escort TD BLE fuel sensor:

Previous topic:

The previous topic has already been closed, so I am opening a new one for further troubleshooting based on the recommendations that were provided.

Following your advice, I:

  • Disabled Non-Stop BLE Scan.

  • Sent the command btgetlist 3 via the EMnify SMS platform (successfully delivered).

  • Sent the same command from my personal mobile phone directly to the tracker’s SIM number.

  • Waited more than 30 minutes in both cases.

However, I did not receive any SMS response from the FMB920.

Current device status:

  • Device: FMB920

  • Firmware: 12.0.0

  • Network: MTN Uganda (roaming)

  • GPS data is continuously transmitted to Wialon.

  • The truck is currently in international transit, so physical access is not possible.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Should btgetlist 3 generate an SMS response on firmware 12.0.0?

  2. Is any additional SMS syntax or password required if no custom password has been configured?

  3. Is the command fully supported while the device is roaming internationally?

  4. Is there another remote method to verify whether the Escort BLE sensor is being detected by the FMB920?

Thank you very much for your support.

Good Day Fiston,

Thank you for your query.

The SMS command format you provided is incorrect. If no SMS login or password is configured, two spaces must be added before the command:

  btgetlist 3

If an SMS login and password are configured, the command should be sent in the following format:

<login> <password> btgetlist 3

Thanks, and best regards,

Imran S.

Good Day Imran,

Thank you very much for your guidance.

Your recommendation worked perfectly. After adding the two spaces before the command, I successfully received the BLE scan results, and the FMB920 was able to detect the Escort sensor:

E81CB6DFAE14,TD_921142

This confirms that the sensor is advertising and that the tracker can detect it correctly.

However, I am still not receiving any BLE fuel parameters (IO 270, IO 273, IO 306, etc.) in Wialon.

I am currently coordinating with the supplier and their technical team to verify whether this particular Escort TD BLE sensor requires any specific configuration or uses a different BLE data format.

I will provide an update once I receive their feedback.

Thank you again for your support.

Good Day Fiston,

The data is not being received because the BLE sensor must first be configured under the Advanced BLE Settings.

A preset for the Escort TD-BLE sensor is available in the preset list. Kindly select this preset and configure the priority of each required I/O element as Low, High, or Panic. If the priority remains disabled, the corresponding sensor data will not be included in the generated records.

For more information about the Advanced BLE configuration, please refer to the following Teltonika Telematics Wiki page:

FMC920 Bluetooth® 4.0 settings - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

Once the preset and I/O priorities have been configured, please test the device again and confirm whether the BLE sensor data is being received.

Thanks, and best regards,

Imran S.
