FMB 140 OBD program code

Dear Sir/Madam, we have a problem with FMB 140 devices. The problem is that when we set the code of the program for reading OBD data, after a period of time, that code changes to another one and we lose data reading from OBD. Are you familiar with such a problem and do you have a solution for it?

Good day, Cortal

Thank you for reporting this issue.

This is a known problem with the FMB140 devices where the CAN-CONTROL adapter randomly changes the OBD program number after the device wakes up, resulting in loss of data reading.

The fix for this issue is available in firmware version 04.02.00.Rev.05 or newer, which prevents the CAN module from changing the program number on its own.

To resolve this, please update the firmware on the affected devices to the latest available version.

Before performing the update, please run the following commands to prevent configuration loss during the process:

  1. Send command: runcmd::cfg_save

  2. Wait for confirmation response: <SAVE_CFG_RESULT>:1

  3. Send command: sdformat

  4. Then proceed with the FOTA update

After the update, the program number will only be changeable via SMS (lvcansetprog), terminal, or configurator, the CAN adapter will no longer be able to override it.

If you need any assistance with the firmware update or have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Muhammad A
