External antennas RUT951

Hello,
I need to connect external antennas to the RUT951, because it will be closed in a rack. I think for LTE I can use this PR1KCL25, but I don’t understand how wi-fi works, can I use these PR1KRF30 one antenna for one floor and the other for the attic? (It is a very small space of a wooden cottage) Or is it stupid? Thank you for the answer.

Pavel

Greetings,

I have forwarded your question regarding this type of WiFi setup to our Research and Development department. Once I receive confirmation on whether it would function properly, I will get back to you.

Greetings,

We do not recommend placing antennas on different floors. While it may function to some extent, overall performance will be worse. For optimal results, antennas should be positioned relatively close to each other, with recommended spacing between 1/4 and 1/2 of a wavelength, approximately 3-6 cm.

For your setup, I would suggest installing an additional access point or router to create a mesh network, which would improve both coverage and throughput. If you plan to run a cable to the attic, it would be more effective to run an ethernet cable instead of an antenna.

We also offer a range of access points you may consider:https://www.teltonika-networks.com/products/access-points

Hello,
Thank you for your very detailed response. I am installing the antennas close to each other, and if coverage is insufficient, I will add an AP.
