So, I’m happy user of FMC920. One security feature I have configured is whenever a car is turned on (ignition=ON), tracker sends me a SMS message. This feature is useful for me when being in my home country or abroad.
But now imagine the following scenario: I’m at national border with really loooong queues, with several hours of waiting! To save the fuel or to prevent engine overheating, I turn off my car while being stationary. And when queue moves forward I turn it on again. This results in many sent SMS messages.
SMS sent while abroad (in roaming network) is 10x more expensive than in home network. This can be ugly at the end of month when bill is received.
Since there isn’t any mobile app available to configure the Teltonika tracker, I’m wondering can I disable and enable this specific event by SMS command (sent from my phone)?
If yes, which would be most elegant way to do that?
I’m also using SMS notification if car battery is cut.
As per your message, I think you need to enable or disable SMS alerts for the ignition event remotely, as you are away from your laptop, so you can do it using SMS commands.
To disable the alert, please send the following command: setparam 9250:0;
This will set the AVL ID parameter under the SMS events option to 0, and no alerts will be triggered.
Once you are back on your home network, you can re-enable the alerts using: setparam 9250:239;
Please note that this command configures the first number in the SMS event list. Kindly confirm that the correct number is set in the first position; otherwise, the behavior may differ.
For better clarity, I am also sharing a reference image.
So, parameter 9250 controls the first event - which is 239 in our case.
If there would be another event in second row, I could control it by … which parameter? 9251 ?
