Difference failover and sim switching

Hi all,

I am currently using a RUTX09 with dual sim connection, I was wondering what is the benefit to activate failover over sim switching. Could you clarify the difference? WIll the failover keep both the interface up to minimise the disconnection time?

Hello,

Failover switches between active WAN sources:
LTE mode
Wired WAN
WiFi WAN

but is there is no sim switch, the router would not start using SIM 2 without SIM switch
