This is about a home office scenario with a single, flakey WAN connection at the moment (VDSL). I´d like to a 2nd WAN connection based on 5G, preferably just using a 2nd SIM on my current mobile contract.
The local networks sit behind a firewall that does internal filtering, nating, routing etc, ie the current WAN router is kind of a dumb ethernet to dsl gateway (not just modem, as it has wan and lan ip).
Option A: repeat the setup with 2nd WAN device, in this case a TRB500 gw and let the firewall do the failover between VDSL and 5G WAN.
Option B: connect the fw to a RUTX or RUTM. Use their WAN port to connect to the VDSL router.
Is someone running a similar setup and point out a few things about failover switchover speed? I would assume it should be similar, but haven´t tried that so far.
