With an ATRM50 router, I can’t connect it to mobile network with a custom APN.
I can connect it to mobile network with a standard custom APN m2m Orange but not to a dedicated custom APN m2m Orange whereas I can connect to this dedicated custom APN m2m Orange from a router RUT240.
After searching on firmware evolutions, I see in some changelog the add of "APN in APN Database”. What is the APN database ? If dedicated custom APN m2m Orange is not in APN database, can it explain that the ATRM50 routeur can’t connect to mobile network with custom APN ?
In your case if you enter custom APN and it still doesn’t work, probably it requires other values like PDP type, Authentication type, username and password.
Our dedicated custom APN requires no authentication type. Why it works with generic custom APN m2m Orange and whereas parameters are the same except the name ?
With the RUT240, I choice “QMI” for connection type. What is the equivalent choice on ATRM50 ?
Could you please provide screenshots of the mobile connection configuration from RUT240, where the “m2m” Orange APN works properly?
Also, may I ask which firmware version is currently running on your ATRM50 device?
At the moment, there’s no “m2m Orange” APN listed in the APN database. You could try adding it manually by navigating to Network → Mobile → APN database → Add new entry, then specify the required carrier name, MNC, MCC, and APN parameters, and check if the ATRM50 connects successfully to your operator when Auto APN is enabled.
I worked with the 18.3 version of firmware. I download the lastest version (19.0) but no success with the new firmware version.
I try to add a new entry in the APN database but when I choise Auto APN, the ATRM50 router connects successfully but not on the wanted APN. Is possible to delete all entries in APN database in order to keep only my favorite APN ? Our APN name is “batsaeiv.vp” .
The RUT240 connects succesfully to the dedicated APN “batsaeiv.vp” with the choice of custom APN. Please see joined screenshots.
Yes, it is possible to delete any unwanted entries from the APN database so that the router will no longer use them when operating in Auto APN mode. Before doing that, I would recommend first adding your batsaeiv.vp APN manually via Network → Mobile → APN Database by simply creating a new entry with the correct name and settings. After your custom APN is added, you can safely remove the other APN entries that the modem currently selects when Auto APN is enabled.
Please also consider whether your operator uses a 5G architecture. If the network operates on 5G-only or 5G-preferred configurations, it may behave differently on the ATRM50 than on the RUT240, which connects only to 4G/3G. For testing, try setting the preferred network type under: Network → Mobile → Connection → Preferred type = 4G/3G Auto
to ensure compatibility during your APN tests.
Additionally, could you provide a screenshot of the Status → Network page when the correct APN is selected?
