Connecting Via Ethernet To a Webserver - To enable remote monitoring

Hi All, I have purchased a TRB246 and need to connected it to a Web Server, that I need to set up remote monitoring on via RMS.

The Set Up

A device with an inbuilt web server with two ethernet ports:
Port 0: For SCADA Systems.
Port 1: For local connections at a default IP address - Also where we set the IP for port 0 through a web UI.

Connected to the TRB246 via a ethernet cable.

The issue when trying to set up the remote monitoring via the RMS the only IP address that show up are the default IP address of the TRB246 e.g. 192.168.1.1.

also no other IP address show up in the ARP table when checked via the TRB246 CLI using the arp -a command.

I have acheived this successfully on a TRB255 setting the ip address of port 0 to be on the same lan as the trb255.

Any insights on why this set up does not want to work on the TRB246 would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Hello @J_Dev,

To better, effectively understand your setup and issue, firstly:

  1. Could you confirm if the device with the built-in web server is on the same subnet as the TRB246, and have you tried pinging the TRB’s default LAN IP from that device?

  2. To clarify, for which device(s) are you trying to configure Remote Monitoring access? Is it specifically the SCADA systems, or another endpoint?

  3. If possible, could you provide any additional information or screenshots showing how you are configuring remote monitoring in RMS?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Martynas,

I’ve actually ended up solving this.

The webserver needed to have a default IP address set and the web UI didn’t reflect the actual settings. e.g having to save settings more than once.
