connect a temperature sensor to my FMC125. (see sensor photo)
The schematic is not clear (see attachment). Specifically, I do not have a blue 1-wire connector! (only a blue wire for RS 485B) (my old FMA120 did have one for low voltage 5V)
Thanks for the answer, but I already knew this since I used the FMA120 trackers before the FMC125 (the satellite navigation on these stopped working and I was unable to upgrade the FMA120).
I have since understood (see connection diagram) that the red and black wires must be connected to the ground together. Power and it is now working with a sensor with a 1-meter cable.
But now it is not possible to connect multiple 1-wire temperature sensors; see the answer below.
I should have bought the FMC130.
I studied the documentation in more detail and consulted with a colleague.
There may be issues connecting more than one temperature sensor with a parasitic power supply, as noted on our wiki page. If you’re using genuine Dallas temperature sensors, there shouldn’t be any issues, as long as the cable is up to 3 meters. However, if you’re using cheap sensors, there may be problems (image attached).
I am very disappointed; I already had to buy 10 new trackers, and now it turns out to be the wrong one, even though I couldn’t read this from the documentation sheet. Moreover, I need cables of 8 to 10 meters to make the connection, which was not a problem with the FMA120.
