Choice of TRM500 modem

Hi, I’m thinking about MikroTik router 5009 + Teltonika TRM 500 modem. Main Fiber 1Gbit connection , 5G - as a backup.

  1. Will TRM500 work with MikroTik 5009 via USB port?
  2. Does TRM500 have any admin GUI?
  3. If I’m not mistaken, TRB500 gateway has such features on 5G/ LTE side, as define the cell to keep connection with (via Cell ID) and some other similar. Does TRM500 have any configuration like this? Or all configuration must be done on the host side.

Actually from understanding the above I’ll make a decision whether to get TRM500, or wait for the updated gateway (TRB500 is definitely not what I’m going to buy, just because I choose only new stuff and can wait. )

  1. This could work as long as you have the necessary driver for your Mikrotik. Available driver in our wiki link is for Windows for now.
  2. TRMs does not have GUI.
  3. This could be done via AT commands. Kindly look into Quectel documentation.
