Cannot upgrade RUT240 at all

Hi, I have a problem with RUT240 firmware upgrade.

I am currently on RUT2_R_00.07.01.4 and I think it is a factory version (never upgraded).
I tried to upgrade device but in all combinations I receive somthing like a checksum error.

Tried variants:

All tries ends with “Invalid image” or “Invalid checksum” error.

Notes

  • To successfully upgrade RUT240 from Legacy firmware (RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.1 and below) to RUTOS (RUT2_R_00.07.01 and up), you must first upgrade to the latest Legacy firmware (RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.3 and up) and then upgrade to latest RUTOS firmware. For example:
    • It is not possible to upgrade from RUT2XX_R_00.01.14 to RUT2_R_00.07.01 and vice-versa;
    • It is possible to upgrade from RUT2XX_R_00.01.14 to RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.4 first, then to RUT2_R_00.07.01 and vice-versa.
  • RUT240 devices with MeigLink SLM750 module are only supported on firmware version RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.4 and up. You can find the module present on your device in Device (legacy WebUI) WebUI page.

Update to RUT2_R_00.07.01.2_WEBUI.bin gives the sam error.

A am already on RUT2_R_00.07.01.4 so I am already on RUTOS, not Legacy firmware.

Hi, I have some new status about the case.

I discovered that Bootloader web ui allows to flash only with legacy firmware.
Trying to flash any of RUT2_R* image gives checksum error.

So I flashed my RUT240 with latest stable legacy image RUT2XX_R_00.01.14.7_WEBUI.bin
And now from that point I can flash any new release using normal upgrade flow (not from bootloader).

But now another problem occurs. Whichever version of current firmware edition I try to upgrade to (RUT2_R*) it does not work properly.

For some versions it is impossible to login.
For some versions I can log in to admin panel but there are issues inside it (dashboard doesn’t show any data, just empty placeholders for all parameters, trying to setup something gives unidentified errors like “invalid data” etc.).

Trying to erease configuration to be able to start fresh config on upgraded version bricks the device at all.
Regardless of wheather I select restore factory settings from GUI or use phisical button combination the device reboots and no more communication with it happens.
In this state there is only 3 blinking leds on device (2G,3G,4G) and nothing else happens.

Now I need to start the process from the beginning (reboot to bootloader, flash legacy firmware).

What to do now?

Have the default admin password, wrote at the silver label under the device?

No it’s not a password problem.
I have a version with default admin/admin01 combination.

If I stuck on login problem it is a kind of random software problem (empty errors or errors with non meaningful rubbish message).

Something is wrong with a combination of my device and new generation firmware.
When I start with legacy firmware everything seems to work fine.

Have you try to clean the cache of your browser?

And like I said before…
If I try to run restore factory settings I see info about this process and after a minute the divice stops responding to ping and never come back (only bootloader flash option remains)
