Cannot activate management package

Hi,

I bought a RMS Management Package (5 years) and received an email with a ‘License Key’ in it.

I presume this is what needs to be activated in the RMS Portal?

However, if I go to ‘Activate Code’ and enter the license key in the ‘Code’ box it says ‘This credit code is invalid’.

What am I doing wrong or missing?

Have you activated the license you received in the email? Under Administration → Companies → Packs Remaining, there should be atleast one pack.

Now after the code is activated, you need to add the management pack to the devices. Additionally, the management pack duration will immediately start upon activation.

1. Log in to RMS
2. Go to Companies under Administration
3. Click on the ‘i’ icon of the First Company
4. Select a device where you’ll add the management pack
5. Once selected, 4 tabs should appear. Click on Pack then select Set pack.
6. Under Select pack, management pack should appear.
7. Click Save

No because I don’t know how to do this.

Hi,

Yes, this is the correct way to activate the code. This error mean that it’s either a wrong code or a used one. Kindly check with your reseller the correct code.

For anyone reading this thread or who has the same problem, I fixed it today.

One thing to look out for is trailing spaces when pasting in the license key - if you copy from the email, it includes a trailing space and apparently the configuration page does not handle them.

Arguably, the configuration page should handle a trailing space…

Also, the device, as of today, was out of the first month’s credit coverage and I wonder whether this was a factor in it not working previous but working today.
