FMP100 trackers do not work in Swizerland with a SIM card from o2/telefonica Germany.
My guess is, that it has to do with APN setting. Our provider told us to set APN to “iot.telefonica.de”. Works fine in whole Europe, but stops working as soon as we enter Swizerland.
On the Teltonika Wiki there is an article Auto APN feature for FM trackers that contains a tool to “check whether the APN you are interested in is supported” and given our APN it answers “Result: Not supported. Please contact sales manager to add the desired APN to list.” As I did not purchase our devices directly from Teltonica, I do not have a sales officer and can not find any contact on the website.
Does anybody kno how to get a FMP100 tracker to work in Swizerland with a o2/Teltonica SIM?
Thank you!
Edit: an idea I just had: if I disable “Auto APN search” the device should just use the APN I entered and it should work, right?
In a call with the hotline of our provider o2/telefonica I found the answer: in Swizerland all 2G (GSM) networks have been turned off. So, no wonder that 2G devices FMP100 do not work there.
The question if I disable “Auto APN search” the device should just use the APN I entered and it should work, right?
Yes, the device should work if you have configured the APN correctly. However, there must be network coverage available in the area; otherwise, the device won’t be able to connect to the network.
