Accessing connected device on Rutx50 with dynamic dns

I am try to access devices connected to my RutX50 but get a time-out with SSH. Steps I took so far:

  • activated Dynamic DNS on the router with my NOIP account. My dynamic public IP address of my cellular connection is passed through successfully to my NOIP account.
  • added a port forwarding to the local ip address of the device I want to connect to

Locally I can Access the device with ssh but from outside I caanot even ping the public IP.

What is still blocking the access?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please confirm if Remote SSH access (System → Administration → Access Control) is enabled on the LAN device you’re trying to reach remotely? Additionally, are you able to access your RUTX50 router remotely using your specified domain (ensure that remote HTTP access is enabled)?

If possible, please provide a screenshot of your Port Forwarding configuration with any private information (such as public IPs) hidden. This will help to better understand the setup and assist you further.

Let us know how it goes, and feel free to reach out if you need additional assistance.

Best regards,

Hi @towr,

do you have a public (routable) IP address assigned by your provider?
Because if you are behind CGNAT that won’t work!
